1) Is the chassis only 24v or do some of the house systems run 24v?

2) Where's the OTR A/C compressor located?

3) Is that your favorite thing in the whole world sitting there- a ping tank??!!

The chassis is both 12V and 24V. I haven't yet identified any 24V house systems. AFAIK, the house is 12V, 120VAC, and 240VAC, with the inverters drawing 24VDC from the house batteries.

I opted for the cheap version; no OTR A/C, only 4 CruiseAirs.

Yes! There are ping tanks on all the air bags; eight air springs, eight ping tanks! I'm in heaven!

"all ac loads pass through inverters " ?? Cruisaires too? Or like in the 450, just 2 of them. What size Alternator(s)?Electric remote management looks great too.
Robust front end! IFS without Ball joints. My dream. Do rails go to bumper? Prevost passes front end impact rules unlike 450,s.

Hey Ross,

Yes, all four Cruisaires too; in fact, everything, all 120/240VAC house loads. The S60 50DN will power 2 Cruiseairs thru the Trace 4000W inverters as long as each inverter is powering only 1 Cruiseair. We motored thru Death Valley with ambient temps of over 100 deg F and the coach stayed cool. The alternator is 300A at 24V.

As you've noticed the IFS kingpin design eliminates z-axis rotation at the upper and lower ball joints. The lower ball joint is simply a ball and socket with a rubber bushing attached to both surfaces. No grease fittings, x-axis rotation is provided by the shear of the rubber bushing itself. Also, the dead weight of the vehicle is supported directly thru the kingpin into the air spring and into the chassis. The upper and lower control arms act primarily as lateral locating members.



I'll have to take a pic of the front structure to see about crash protection. Stay tuned!

2) Any idea why the ping tank for the driver's side air bag is inboard the frame, while the passenger's is outboard?


I certainly expect to see those struts all polished before the next pictures are taken! How rude!

That tank, mounted vertically, is the primary air tank reservoir for the front air brakes. The ping tanks are about half that size and are mounted within a foot of each air-spring. Eight air-springs; eight ping tanks.

I did take a sponge to it's exterior. You haven't lived till you've washed an H3... by hand!

That is how you learn what is on the coach by getting tested. Great answers.
Have you polished the brake slacker yet?
If you think wahing to H3 is bad try washing and polishing the XL2 you can't leave any marks on the SS. Oh but your H3 is taller.

Hish, next time you're passing through Asheville NC, stop by Camp David for a bus wash. We have the best water. I washed the bus in bright sunlight on a 70 deg day and not a water spot anywhere!
