MCI Info on Tire Wear Patterns
Towards the end of this document are some examples of common tire wear problems and possible causes. Great stuff!

RE: MCI Info on Tire Wear Patterns
In line with the MCI information, I can add the following.
Tire cupping on the steer tires can be reduced by siping the tread ribs and leaving the outer edge on each side un siped. The tire will run cooler, get better wear mileage and is less likely to cup. Siping all the tires will improve wear mileage and also improve traction on slick roads. Tag axle uneven wear is often due to worn shock absorbers. Misalignment, of course, can also cause uneven wear. 2003 LXI dbl. slide George & Norma Fox Mexico in Winter Alaska in Summer http://www.doszorros.com |
