1992 Bluebird Wonderlodge
I am brand new to your group and very much wish to purchase a 1992 Wanderlodge.
It has a grand new Detroit 500 hp engine in it and seems very clean and nice. I would like any and all opinions -- good or bad -- from any persons in the group. My biggest concern is having a thorough inspection prior to purchase... I also want to know where I can take it for service in the So. CA area... Many thanks for allowing me to join. Hope to be able to join you all on the road one day soon. thank you. John PoliceTek@... |

John, I looked at that coach in May if it is the same, Canajo auto
sales. The salesmen talked too much and his stories conflicted then he lit up a cigarette in the coach. I got a bad feeling but for the most part the coach seems nice they wanted 139k then I eventually found a 94 . Take your time. give me a call if you wish Gregory O'Connor Romoland California 951-830-5997 94pt40--- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "J" > I am brand new to your group and very much wish to purchase a 1992 Wanderlodge. that has to be the same salesman I encountered at the
same place. I agree about taking my time. I have found the people on this forum very helpful in referring me to folks who can do a PDI type inspection to see what is lurking under that beauty. Romoland... where is that? thanks so much and best wishes out there with your BB. --- Gregory OConnor > John, I looked at that coach in May if it is the > same, Canajo auto > sales. John,
I am in the San Diego area. I use Valley Power Systems (formerly Valley Detroit Diesel Allison) for engine/drive train. You can find a location at this link. I use the Miramar location. <http://www.valleypowersystems.com/branches.htm> Holland Motor Homes, a Blue Bird dealer, is right off Rt 52 at Convoy between I-5 and I-15. They know Birds but they are not cheap. Loren Swartz is the service manager. If they cannot do a PDI there, he might know someone who could in the area. They are located at: Holland Motor Homes 7490 Copley Park Place San Diego, CA 92111 858-874-4444 Make sure that whomever you have do a PDI knows Blue Birds or you will waste your money. They are unique and complicated. I just found out yesterday that Blue Bird had HWH custom make the leveling system on my 95 PT42. Why, I do not know yet but it is not the off the shelf deal. Romoland is in Riverside county one hour from the dealership. I
would not pay airfair and $500.for some one to look at the coach. I looked at the engine and they have documents that you can look at and call to see if the warranty is valid. Make the calls and have the dealer take it to a RV repair shop (of your choice) nearby for you to have the genset, ac step and all the major things looked at. (Vintage birds.com has a check list). If you are unable to fix the little things now and then maybe a 13 year old coach is not for you. I was told the dealer burned up the engine on the way home from an auction in Vegas. It does not matter what they say, you have to look at what it IS. I offered 95K and they called me back, but after I spent it on my 94. If the documents on the 8v92 check out and, all the major appliances check out 30k off the price would buy a lot of minor repairs and some fuel too Gregory O'Connor 94pt40 Romoland California just south of March air field --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, John Jacobson > that has to be the same salesman I encountered at the > same place.
