Got reports from two fellow birders today indicating a turnout less
than 150 for the Rally in the Valley. I think there is about 13
already at the RATS rally and more to come.

I imagine there will be much talk over the next few months because
of this.

I was told yesterday that there was 134 reservations for the RITV.
Thats not good. I just hope the people at the alternate rally keep
it very low key, and do not make a big thing of this. Would hate to
lose Bennie Collier since so many of us depend on him for information
not obtainable anywhere else.

Tom, how many usuly go to these rallys? do they have one every year

First one I went to had a little over 300. I believe attendance has
gone down drastically every year since then.

The numbers have been decreasing steadily over the last 6 or 7
years. My first visit had about 530 coaches. That was a party.
The RIV serves basically three purposes: It is a social event for
all, it is a technical event for those that have not had much time
in a bird or any RV and third, it is to sell coaches.

This is from a different point of view, as a lady and a Bluebird
owner for the past 8 years, I have been to the RIV, Rats,
Friends,Lonestarbird and Vintage Bird rallies. The RIV was really
special and fun and expensive for many, the Rats was great fun and
not as costly for most, The Vintage Bird Rally was wonderful and you
got a lot of bang for your buck. Quartzside Rally was really cheap
and you met al lot of new people.
The RIV this year in Branson was different but I think the planners
did a really great job. The Host KOA went out of their way to attend
to my every need and was friendly and helpful. It was not the Rally
in the Valley but it offered many different and new experiences. The
schedule changed several times but with my background in Education
you learn to roll with the tides. The reps from the company were very
socialable and friendly. The activties were enjoyable, the ladies
luncheon was great, the boat cruise and dinner was most enjoyable and
a nice hot full breakfast every morning and the most important part
was great times with other Bluebird Owners. We have such a network of
friends (Bluebird Owners)throughout the United States that we have
met at all the rallies makes me feel really special to own a Bluebird.
Best of luck during these difficult business times to our new owners
and if I could I would be driving or riding in a M380, of course it
would have to be Purple.
