MYRTLE BEACH II RALLY (Directions from Fla)

For those planning on attending the Myrtle Beach Rally that will be
comming from the south along I-95 north bound. John F please feel
free to chime in here...

Exit off the Interstate 95 on EXIT #33. BE VERY CAREFUL this is about
40 miles of two lane hwy..go the speed limit...very scenic but very
dangerous.

It is exit #33 at Point South, remind them to follow US 17 North to
Charleston and not Alternate US 17 North to Walterboro, as you know
both of them can be reached from the same exit, with the Alternate US
17 North junction about 2 miles from the exit.

You will be entering Charleston along Hwy 17 aka Savannah Hwy. Past
OAK TREE PLANTATION CAMPGROUND (great place by the way) then TAKE I-
526 toward MT PLEASANT (you will "skirt around" Charleston)

LOOK for HWY 17 toward Georgetown exit. Off exit TURN LEFT on HWY 17N
(at this point you will be appx 90 miles from Pirateland)

Entering Georgetown (across the bridge over the water and seeing the
papermill) GET IN THE LEFT LANE..the end of the brige can be rough.
Past the steel mill on right, ease over to the right lane asap. AT
GEORGETOWN ICE..and a small store...bear right toward Pawleys Island,
Litchfield, Murrells Inlet (NOW best to get in LEFT LANE ASAP)

Then you will leave Georgetown..over the Intercoastal Waterway..speed
limit 60mph....When comming into Pawleys...DO NOT SPEED...45MPH- (47
THEY GET YA) out of N. Litchfield speed back to 55mph...

JUST PAST Huntington Beach State Park...(if you want to come through
the inlet many coaches do) bear right at sign MURRELLS INLET..you
will see the entire inlet. OR stay on HWY 17 BYPASS if you choose the
bypass bear right toward Garden City.. either way you will end up in
the same place. When you see the EXXON gas station look directly
accross the street there is our ANTIQUE STORE (HINT blow your horns
and let Judi know you are "commin thru" If you see HOME DEPOT TURN
RIGHT BACK TO BUSINESS 17 THEN LEFT to Bus 17N

Continue on HWY 17 Business toward GARDEN CITY-SURFSIDE
BEACH..through Garden city and Surfside Beach...LOOK FOR HWY 544 on
left and OCEAN LAKES CAMPGROUND ON RIGHT...2 miles on the right is
PIRATELAND CAMPGROUND.
