RE: WaGu Browsing Performance Issues
Hey, this thread came right up twice, but the air leak tester thread only took 30 seconds ("waiting for http://www.wanderl...) Much better. Now useable. I'm a happy camper, so to speak. Thank you for whatever you did.

Well, I don't much know what this all means, but if it helps, here it is. That didn't copy very well. Is it useable?

David, this is fast. Do you need 401's for redirecting established google link http to https ?

Thanks Ron, yes it is useable. The "first byte" delays look reasonable at 0.690s and 0.502s which tells me you're not having a connectivity issue at least for this test. I'd be very interested in seeing a webpagetest result for one of your 30s thread reading delays.

Hi Greg, I think I'm set for the time being. MyBB requires redirects to be placed in the .htaccess file. Currently I'm using a 301 response which means a "permanent" redirect to the https url. My .htaccess file is pretty complex because of all the google seo crap in it. I have no choice but to do redirects at this level.

All I really want from the SSL Certificate is the static IP address. Actually using https is optional and experimental. It's a little messy because there are links that I bring in on various pages that aren't https so on occasion you may see a "security.mixed_content.block_active_content" error message. If anyone sees this let me know and I'll either restore things to http or tell you how to modify settings in your browsers to ignore these messages and continue loading content. An example of where you might see this error is when you navigate over to the "User Locations" toplink which sucks in a bunch of non-secure google mapping stuff.

BTW, don't let all this highfalutin language lead you into falsely believing that I know what I'm talking about... Smile Thanks everyone for helping out; I often don't know that we have performance problems unless someone tells me.

RE: WaGu Browsing Performance Issues
Looks like some folks are still having some performance issues. Don't be bashful about speaking up. Smile If you have the time a screen shot of test results from http://www.webpagetest.org will help me isolate the problem. I usually enter wanderlodgegurus.com and then take a screen capture of the results using Microsoft's snippet tool under Microsoft/Accessories in your Start menu. Like so: İmage

Thanks, together we'll get to the bottom of this.
