Burnt wiring harness by turbo
I have a 1982 3208t cat in a 35 foot wanderlodge.The power stering
reservoir hose was burnt and I moved it to the front AC comptessor
location.I installed a heat shield on the turbo and cross exhaust
manafold.I changed the tranmission shiftdown cable,Burnt. The wiring
harness is brittle and insulation coming off.
Has anyone had this problem or re-routed the wiring?
There is just enough room to put you fingers between the exhaust
blanket and the dog house.

Hi Ken,

I was reading your post and it all sounded odd...until I noticed
your coach year. The turbo 3208 was not installed by the factory
until the 1983 model year.

Your engine was likely installed as a custom job by an aftermarket
shop. Sounds like they missed a few things, but you're tracking
them down.

You might also want to wrap the exhaust with header wrap as it goes
on by the airbags under the coach.

You are right Garry.
Wanderlodge aparantly only installed turbos on the last six coaches
built in 1982.My motor was installed by the original owner in 1995.
I purchased it in 1998.The maesurements of the new motor are wider
and longer leaving little room at the rear.I have moved the power
steering pump up front to where the air conditionar pump was.The
pump hoses where brittle from the heat from the turbo. The heat from
the turbo has now taken its toll on the wiring harness.
