Looking for some advice. We're heading south a bit before
Christmas and would like some help in finding some good RV parks or
just parks to camp in the southern CA and AZ area before heading off to
Quartzite in January. Any help is appreciated.

These are dry camp places. On INTERSTATE 8 1. Holtville has a 14 day stay with
a hot spring. 2. east of Holtville are National Sand Dunes right on 8. 3. VFW
8242 Take 8 east to Yuma then 95 north about 10 miles on the right is club.
All 3 are 14 day stays and are run by BLM.

Blair, the southern Cal Indian casinos have great camping. Pachanga in
Temecula CA is nice. Call me if you need anything while in our area. I
live near March AirField. Maybe you can help Curt an I with his Yanmar
Genset.

Greg,
Is that the one right next to the factory outlet stores next to
the 10 outside of S.D.?

Sure, would love to stop in and get dirty. Blair

No Blair, That is Viejas with the outlet center, casino etc. I
don't think they have an actual campground, but your RV will be
welcome in the lot for the casino. If you keep going east on I8
(about 60 miles) you will come to Golden Acorn casino. I don't
think there is a campground there either, but once again plenty of
room for your RV. Golden Acorn is at 4000' and the wind is usually
blowing pretty hard there.

We are mostly moved to Yuma, but still spending time at the old
house here in Lakeside. Our house in Yuma is in the foothills which
are east of yuma about 12 miles. There is a campground really close
to us if you want to spend time in Yuma. We actually have plenty of
room for your rig, but I don't have hookups set up yet. You are
welcome to stay over if you want. Let us know.

The indian reservation that has the casino also has a nice campground a few
miles into the
tribal land. We camped there will Lynn and her friends ran up the
national debt at the stores.

The campground I was referring to is called "Fortuna de Oro". It
has a pool, recreation hall, golf course. As you know there are
lots of campgrounds in Yuma. Fortuna de Oro is the last campground
going east bound in Yuma. Stay on I8 after crossing the border from
CA, get off at exit 14, turn left over the freeway, turn right on
north frontage road, office is about 1/2 mile down on the left. Our
population is 170,000 during the summer and about 270,00 from
January thru March. I can get you info on some of the other
campgrounds if you want. Algadones Mex is south from the CA side of
the Colorado river, so you might want to stay closer in Yuma.
