But Scott- all the diesel you will burn will be in your pickup. If I had to
burn diesel- would rather have done it in my coach. Have a good trip.

We are in a like situation. We need a TOAD too. But we thought that
the Liberty was too small. Our choices have boiled down to a Jeep
Grand Cherokee or a Ford Explorer. If we have some dealers among our
forum membership, we would like to hear from them, also.

I just wish that a diesel engine was available in the Explorer and GC
as it is in Europe.

In answer to Al's message of 12/10/05:

Al,

The August, 2005 issue of Consumer Reports has a write-up on the Jeep
Liberty Diesel. They do not think to much of it - prefer the gas model.
Had fair o poor marks , in acceleration , comfort, ride, etc. Overall
mileage was 18 mpg. You might want to get this issue and check it out.

FWIW, we are on the road full time now and do not have a reliable
internet connection yet. Still trying to get the treasurer to understand
the NEED for a datastorm.

Also, does anyone know where the best price for one is?
