tail lights
My tail lights quit working, so I started at the breaker behind the
driver side headlight (breaker#6) I have power leaving there. I
checked at the terminal block above the batterys and it is dead
there, so I opened up the dash to get to the switch and I have power
there. With the switch in the parking lights position the dash lights
up green and the parking (tail)lights come on like they should(2 of
the 4 tail lights). With the switch in the headlights position the
headlights come on but no taillights, but the break lights work fine.
My question how does it get from the switch to the terminal block
above the batterys? Is there a relay or some other fuse between the
switch and the terminal block. Also does anyone have a wiring diagram
for the headlight switch. The switch has 6 wires
red= hot
green= hot
orange= headlights
blue= guage lights
black/orange= parking & green dash lights (crimped together on same
lug)

with this setup I'm not sure how you can turn on the tail lights
without using the orange from the headlights, because the
black/orange wires are dead when the switch is in the headlight
position. Otherwise
the dash would be glowing green anytime the headlights were on, but
that would turn on the tail lights Wink

Bruce,

Try to connect an independent, temporary ground to
the tail lights in order to rule out a ground problem
early in the diagnosis. My experience has been, 9 out
of 10 times, the ground has been at fault when I
received otherwise confusing results.

The lights work when you pull the knob up one click (parking lights)
but they don't when the switch is in the headlight position (tail
lights) SO I don't think it's a ground problem, but you are right
grounds are a problem alot of the time!

Can anyone provide a source for the taillight assemblies for our 91
WLWB. They have Volvo stamped in the lense and a number (88063). If
not a source, I'd like to know what year and model Volvo these lenses
fit.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks. Now I just need to figure out which ones are used on the
coach. The ones on my bird look like the 90-92 740 taillights , but
they could be the 740 lights that are earlier. anybody know which
model year they are for?

Thanks

While we're discussing lights ... I recall someone mentioning that
the '95 (and some years before/after) have Ford truck headlight
assemblies. Does anyone have the year and a source?

After washing my rig, I notice that I have moisture inside the lens
of one of the head lights. Is there a gasket kit or do I need to
replace the whole assembly?

Thanks.
