MYRTLE BEACH II RALLY
Well, here we are 11 days from the Myrtle Beach Rally. Things are
comming together. This week we will enjoy 75*-80* temps and lots of
sun. Put those requests in for great weather. I am sure Pirateland is
prepared for the onslaught of BlueBirds, both vintage and otherwise.
I of course am looking forward to meeting everyone, and seeing old
friends.

For those planning on attending just a little bit of what to expect:

This rally does not have a formal structure per se, Since this group
mostly gets together for the commradere, to talk BB, to see old
buddies, meet new ones, the structure is kinda go with the flow or
make ones own path as it relates to activities. You can't be shy with
this crowd...LOL

After all this group plays so well together. :>)

Friday morning, the televison cameras will be rollin, checking out
all the "WANDERFUL" BlueBirds. I think the newpaper is also sending
in a reporter. So polish the birds, get a haircut, and lets have fun
with this.

Friday night dinner, is a your on your own. Last year we went to a
couple of locals restaurants and folks loved the fresh seafood.
Probably will again this year.

The Street Rod Car show will be here and is ususally a fairly large
event. So if you want to look at cars that bring back high school
memories (ahem!) This is a must see.

Saturday eve, will be a Potluck that Peggy Meservey, will be
coordinating upon arrival. I will be bringing some "WANDERFUL" "slap
yo mamma" southern BBQ (sorry its a southern thang) I have some great
home made "Q" sauces prepared and who knows maybe even enough for
some to take home. (hint)

We are planning a TECH SEMINAR for the vintage coaches, headlight
upgrades. John Finn will have a supply of relays etc for sale.

Let's not forget the BEACH, the ocean is only 30 yrds away. Great to
get up in the am, have some coffee, watch the porpoises playing,
birds flying (make sure not to stand under them when feeding
them..YUCK been there) and finding sea shells etc.

John's dog "BUDDY" is the official beach patrol for any other 4
legged animals attending, watch him girls, even though he is older he
can still dance.

This years rally is shaping up to be bigger than last and both Judi
and I are excited to see everyone. PLEASE, PLEASE, if you are
attending or planning on attending please sign the database, it makes
planning so much easier.

If ANYONE has any difficulties or
questions whatsoever please do not hesitate to contact me. 843-446-

WE WISH YOU SAFE TRAVELS

MYRTLE BEACH II RALLY
Well, I have an update for all that are going to be attending the MB
rally..Tom Sorrentino will be attending this year, Tom liked the gift
he won last year so he is attempting to win another this year.
Driving the furthest (?) anyway..Tom is from Upstate NY and to be
sure he wins he will be arriving via IOWA.. Holey Moley Tom!!

Really, Tom just emailed and confirmed he will be attending (he is in
Iowa leaving today) and he wanted me to let everyone know that he
will be bringing his vinyl lettering machine with him. He only has
two colors black and yellow..my kinda guy Steelers Fan! He will
gladly do any lettering for attedees....drum roll...for FREE!

Tom does alot of this work and people are "dying" for him to do their
work. Ask Tom what I mean.

ANOTHER activity for the soon to be famous MYRTLE BEACH RALLY! By the
way I think we are going to far exceed the number of coaches last
year..should be a "WANDERFUL" time.

See y'all here

MYRTLE BEACH II RALLY
Well the second annual rally has ended with many birds leaving
yesterday (Sunday) and several leaving today. There were 24 total
BlueBirds in attendance. The oldest in attendance was the Desimone's
1977 FC, the newest was the Brody's,Lazar's,Reddon's, or the Davis's
(quite honestly I am not sure and do not want to offend anyone!)
Several, folks did not sign up but showed up which was a really great
suprise. Several saw how our unstructured, structured rally was
achieved and they loved it. Sleep late, Eat tons and laugh alot. After
all, what other rally have you seen folks walk around in their PJ's!!

The general concensus was truly "WANDERFUL"

We had several people that came to the campground to "look at vintage
coaches" because they saw us on TV. It was great. We even had some
folks that heard about it and came because they are looking to
purchase
a BB.

I started a new tradition. A "BROKEN BUT HERE" AWARD. With the help of
Guy Smalley, who drew and framed the award, we came up with the idea
of
making an award that will be handed out every year to the "person that
had the most mechanical problems on the way to this rally" I will post
a copy of the award for everyone to see. By the way the FIRST
recipiant
was Bob and Jean Benner, their PT blew a power steering line 2 miles
from the campground. Tom Meservey and myself got Bob back on the road
to the rally, and he spend the better part of the day replacing the
line.

The Saturday nights pot luck was second to none. Peggy Meservey pulled
together the best ever. Everyone had a great time.

Campfires were attended by many. Lots of ideas were exchanged and we
decided the annual Myrtle Beach Rally will just have to continue. By
the way Pirateland Campground truly went out of their way to make
everyone comfortable, more than once maint stopped by to see if we
needed "anything". All the different birds were just beautiful, flags
flying, wheels shiniing, good times.

Both Judi and I are flattered that we had so many folks make the
effort
to attend this rally. We met many "new" friends that already seem like
old pals. We actually discussed the diversity of the folks, older,
younger, retired working, totally different carreer paths, ALL with a
common hobby! THINK ABOUT IT. That is truly a testament to this whole
community.

I will be posting some pictures for everyone to see..you gotta see
this!!

Thanks again to all attending and those that did not ...plan on it
next
year...it is gonna be better!

SEE Y'ALL IN MAXTON.
