Sporlan Water Valve- Changeout

Sporlan Water Valve- Changeout
Has anyone ever replced one of these? Now that all my water lines are
repaired- and I have pressure, the valve that is used to fill the
fresh tank is obvously not working. EWhen I hook up city water, it
starts to fill the tank- without regard to the valve switch on or off.
I can hear the valve clicking and trying to work, but it does not. The
water pump also is affected by this- because it does not seal the
loop, and lets water bypass around in a circle.

I have even thought about seeing if there was a type of manual valve
with a push/pull type cable to open and close the connection.
Help??!

Stephen, I have not replaced the full valve, but was able to get a
repair kit and replace the innards. Easy to do. Works great. I
followed the instructions provided by Ralph F, which at the moment,
I cannot seem to find. Basically, you likely need to clean or
replace the inner seal "disk".

Links are hard to paste in Yahoo so search for Sporlan.com and you
will get the company, and there are downloads for parts. I'll stick
the service/part sheet in the files here and at Wanderlodge FC in a
few moments. Good luck.

Is the diaphragm in good condition? A while back I took mine apart,
removed the white stuff, lightly cleaned the diaphragm, and reassembled
it. Works great so far.

Ed,
No too bad. Mine was between walls that support the bed and keep the
water tank in place. A space about 12 inches by 24 inches, filled with
plumbing. Lifted the mattress and supported it, removed the mattress
platform, and stuck my head in under the mattress and cussed the whole
time. About a half hour job. It would take all day if I had to R&R the
valve body.

Sporlan Water Valve- Changeout
My valve was not clogged, or full of anything. I took it apart before I knew
I had problems, because it was leaking(the big o-ring) I went to the local
hardware store, and got a new o-ring.. Well it does not leak, but it does
not stop water from flowing either. The rubber disc was clean, and soft..
but I guess it has sit up dry for a long time, and the top rubber does not
seal the hole anymore??.. I guess I need a rebuild kit. When I go outside
and move the "tank Fill" switch on/off, I hear a clicking sound inside.. I
assume the solenoid is trying to open/close. and it is getting power. What
cha think?

yes ernie, the valve is on the floor behind the built in dresser. I
had to dismantle the dresser cabinet and jack it up enough to get my

its so hard to get to I thougt it best to put in new parts. By the way
I fixed my gen set(wouldnt fire). Changed fuel filter and tightned alt
