B lack Water Tank Valve

Folks,

I have a leaky black water tank Dupree valve. After a day of
traveling about a cup of fluid seeps past the seals - not
a total failure. Is there any maintenance I can do to
try to get a better seal. Is there a rebuild kit available,
or do I replace the entire valve.

As Stephen said, Jeff Miller has the repair parts you need.

If you belong to the WOO site, there is are step by step pictures
detailing the procedure for the maintenance. It is very easy to do.

You need to check the paddle surfaces for rubber distortion.

Hey there David, We missed you in MB for the rally. Hope all is well
with you and Suzie!
The tank valves sometimes leak because of pressure built up between the
cap and valve. Sometimes simply loosening the cap (the small one for
the garden hose) will help. BUT the rebuild kits are available and VERY
EASY to replace...Jeff has them and will chime in here I am sure..

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the reply and good to hear from you. Suzy and I are
3500 miles into a 3 month trip thru the south and the west. We're
currently in Tucson Az - Saguaro National Park is unbelievable.
The Saquaro, Occotillo, and Cholla cacti form a landscape that
seems otherworldly. The bus is performing beautifully and is
a real pleasure to drive and live in. I'm even getting used to the
attention that she attracts... Sorry we missed MB, we passed
thru Hilton head just 2 weeks prior, sounds like an incredible
event and a great tradition. Say hi to Judy.

Remove the two screws (with an empty and rinsed tank), pull the valve
cartrige out of the housing. If the seal looks damaged/worn, we have
plenty of replacement paddles. If not, check the housing where the seal
slides in, could be something lodged in there. Should take around 5-10
minutes to check. The word "inlet" should face the tank.

Waterproof grease will help it to work easier and longer. Lube the O-
ring to make re-installation easier.
