Hydraulic leveler Drive 90 SP36
Help,
My bird has been stored all winter with the jacks down
and now the leveler motor runs all the time (unless I shut off the
level minder). There is plenty of fluid in the reservoir and the
jacks still extend and retract, however the green indicators now only
work for the right side jacks. With the engine running when I turn on
the level minder the alt charge indicator goes up to about 75 amps
from it's normal 5-10. I did notice that the left rear jack takes a
long time to retract the last several inches.

There is a micro switch that runs the motor, mounted on the forward side of the
valve body, under the cover. I'd check it for function. Motor should only run
when levers are moved to the extend position. There is a little wire fence that
contacts the levers to close the switch for extending jacks.
Slow retraction is sticky jack, lever not moving enough to uncover vent port or
debris in oil causing blockage.

Thanks Mike,
I just returned from the bird having cycled the jacks several
times, now only the right front green indicator light stays on
when the bags are filled and the jacks are all up and the levers
are in "neutral". I looked under the coach and I see only 1 level
switch assembly in the front near the center of the coach but
actuated by a rod attached closer to the left front wheel. The
cover you mention, is this under the step?

It's the decorative cover over the control valve body, the levers stick through
it. It's not fun to access that stuff.

The lights on the levelors have nothing to do with the hydraulic
motor extending or retracting the jacks. If any one of the four jack
levers are put in the extend position the hydraulic motor should come
on and extend that jack. I am not familiar with the colors of the 8
LEDS on your coach but mine are red for a jack extended and blue for
a jack to low and needs to be extended more. If all of the jacks are
down then all of the red LEDs will be on. At the same time the low
corner of the coach will cause the blue LED to come on. I believe
your SP36 generator uses the same hydraulic motor to power the slide.
I know my 1985 PT40 generator works off the same hydraulic motor.
