Thin lites

[Ernest Ekberg]

I have removed my bath thin lite and was going to replace the ballast.
Low and behold there is a circuit board on the back of that thing. That
is the culprit that is fried. Anyone replace this circuit board? why
would there be a circuit board on a flourescent fixture? Inquiring non
electrical mind wants to know. Ernie-83pt40 in Louisiana

Those lights are actually 110V florescent lights. The circuit board is
the inverter.

I have replaced those. They run about $35 ea.

After the Zab Juda/Mayweather fight, I'll see if I can find where to
buy and the part#.

Hi Ernie,

Check out <http://www.thinlite.com> They have a flat rate repair on their units
that is, IIRC $23.50 and you get the same warranty as a new lite. I had a
couple of mine done and they were great.

Thanks, Jay. I bought those inverter/ballasts from Stephen Birtles last
year. I was not expecting a "strip' ballast.Stephen called me and directed me

We now have the replacement ballasts for twin tubes lights. These
ballasts are a higher quality than thin lite and bolt or rivet into
the same place as the original ballast. They come in two power
capacities up to 8 watt twin tube or 16 wattts total and up to 15
watt twin tube or 30 watts total. They are voltage stable between 9and
16 volts and will survuve temporary surges to 24 volts although not
recommended
We are also going to offer a rebuild service for 12 volt flourescent
lights and it is very competitively priced with other sources in the
industry
