I am considering acquiring a golf cart to take around with me, has
anyone ever seen a receiver hitch rack of sufficient size & strength to
hold a golf cart?

I would say something like an Overbuiit lift will work.

Scott,

I believe that a golf cart would be too heavy for a rack on back. I have
seem motorcycles, however they are narrow enough to be close the hitch
point, not long and wide like a cart (they are 9 feet long or 4 feet wide!!)
Also they weigh over 1000 LBS. Therefore a trailer would probably be better
Choice. Plus not to mention out of the weather.

I had a business selling custom carts for a while. I also personally owned
several EZGO's and Yamaha GAS..I will be doing the same, getting an enclosed
trailer to pull mine around in (plus some other junk and toys-grills, ect)
The carts are the best!

I can't wait to get my bus on the road, and get another cart!

Best of luck- let us know what you find!

Anyone ever see/own a golf cart rack?
Hi Scott,

I had a rack for a Handicap cart and found it to be a rough ride for it. The
batteries came loose. On the Golf cart: At one of the rallies, I saw a
specially made cart that would fit into the bay of most motorhomes. They
were asking around $3,000 for it. Can't remember where or when at this point
but you know that such a thing did exist and may be able to find it.

Happy hunting.

Scott,

Stephen is correct, sometimes the weight spec. is at about 600
pounds, then add 6 batteries at about 60+ pounds each, And you are
near 1000 lbs.
I did see a Motorhome, this past winter in Florida with a golf cart
on the rear rack, But I did not see the brand or how it was
supported, So someone found a way to do it.
A gas golf cart weights much less than the electric carts.
We have a four seat Electric Club Car , with the price of fuel, I am
thinking of using it for an RV and parking the Bird for a while.

Scott, I owned a "Overbilt lift" mounted on 85 'WL40 and carried various Harleys
and BMW's on it with never a problem. It would be easily modified to carry a
golf cart which you could drive on and off and lift to travel. My biggest cycle
was about 1000lbs and as long as you stay within rated weight it should be ok.

Blue ox makes a rack called sport rack will hold a cart but you have
to figure outif you can install the hitch
the hitch has 3 receivers the mounting plates are intalled on the
frame BUT the locationof fuel tank may interfere with installation
