Hail Damage

Hail Damage
We have had hail before in a few places but Thursday night a severe
thunderstorm passed through southern Wisconsin and pelted us with
large hail stones. The noise of hail stones on the roof were very
large thunks, and raps. A couple of weeks ago we had pea size hail,
Thursday's was golf ball size and in some areas baseball size. Our
neighbor on the site next to us had his A/C shroud demolished. Today
we had a friend climb on the roof to access our damage. The solar
panels are fine, the rear A/C cover is fine, the middle cover has a
golf ball size hole but damage underneath that could be seen. The TV
antenna cover was demolished, it had a man's fist sized hole in it
and cracked some more when duct tape was applied as we are getting
more storms tomorrow. The front A/C had a small crack. The roof
itself looked fine.

The funny thing is when we raised the antenna to find out if that had
been affected the antenna would rotate. It had stopped rotating this
past summer. I guess the hail shocked it into working again.

We have one dent in the hood or our car that is obvious to the eye
and we can't find any more. So we are grateful again to have such a
tough old bird. The news here says there have been 2000 vehicle
claims and 200 property damage claims.

We have to find someone who can order the shrouds and put them on,
plus I think we should get a new antenna. Does anyone know if they
still make covers for the A/C's this old? We were going to have the A/
C serviced in the next couple of weeks to be ready for the midwest
steamy, hot summers. Yesterday it was 82 here in Madison.

Short medical update: Dick really has iron deficiency anemia with no
iron reserves. More tests scheduled to find out the cause and see if
the initial treatment is working. Echocardiogram scheduled due to
extreme shortness of breath. The Doctors don't know if the
shortness of breath is because of COPD or anemia or heart disease.
