Propane Pressure Regulator

Now I do have a propane problem after all. When I had my propane tank
filled last night, it was apparently overfilled and blew the pressure
relieve valve on the tank's regulator (lost 3/4 of a tank). Does know
where we can find these old style regulators or a substitute?

Marshall Brass makes a two stage unit #294-00. This is for the horizontal
mount, the vertical mount is # 290-00. Complement this new item with an CCI LP
leak detector that shuts off the tank in case of a leak. Part #7770.7, use
control solenoid # 7718. Both my birds have these controls and I sleep better
knowing they are there.

The best I source I have found is Suburban Propane. One of the best
prices for propane, parts, installation. They have many outlets in
California and other states. They are a volume propane distributor, but
they take care of leaks, parts, upgrades, etc. All I needed to do was to
call and make an appointment. They will also test your propane system,
which is a good thing to do every few years.

Call me tomorrow after 9am PST I will give you the phone # of the
company in Fresno that had the High Pressure regulator I needed.I went
to at least 6 places (propane dealers,R.V. service shops) around

Hi Mike,

Good Rec- I replaced my old regulator with the Marshall Brass two-
stage unit and also the CCI leak detector this past spring. Both
work great. Marshall brass also has a "tee" connection that can be
installed for gas grills just after the 2-stage regulator. This
works great for connecting grills, etc.. to the main propane tank. I
believe that it came with a 12' hose that will connect to anything
that uses the small propane cannisters. You can also get an adapter
for larger grills. It's certainly safer than lugging around loose
canisters or a 20# propane tank.

Appreciate the quick responses from all.... I'll look into this unit
Mike, and thank you Jim for the Fresno connection. I'll give you a
call when I get back. We're sitting at Lake Almanor in northern
Calfornia right now. We're at North Shore Campgrounds. All the sites
are large, and terraced amongst the pines, providing each with a view
of the lake and Mt. Lassen. If you get near, be sure to stop at this
place.

In the meantime, I got lucky and found a high pressure regulator at an
RV dealer just several miles from our home. I will look into the
Marshall Brass though. This one was cheap, and gets us down the road
with cold beer for now, but doesn't have any safety features you
mentioned Mike. Anyway, we're good for the moment. I really thought
we'd be icebox'n it on this trip, which is too close to like real
camping. This ole birds got us spoiled some.
