Any recommendations on campgrounds in the Rochester Minnesota area, I need
to be within 30 minutes drive time of Mayo Clinic.

Thanks

Steve,

Just 11 miles north of Rochester (15 - 20 minute drive max) is a widespot in the
road called Oronoco. There is a local bar/restaurant there called "Tilly's
Tavern" (507) 367-2800, located on the west side of Hwy 52. The owner has
recently installed an RV park right next door to the tavern with full hook ups
(water, sewer, 50amp) and pull thru's. "Tilly's All American RV Park",
$30/nite.

We stopped over there early this month when we are coming back from Albuquerque
NM. Nice little park, laid out well and it is real easy to get in and out of.
It operates on the "honor" system if you come in a little late and no one is
around to take your $$$. You just pick a spot, hook up and then catch somebody
over at the tavern to let them know you're there.

Oh, and if you are a beef eater you definitely want to have their hamburger and
seasoned fries while you're there. It's AWESOME!

Check with the clinic a lot of hospital and clinics have made
arrangements with campgrounds to give a reduced fee to patients. I
would think that the Mayo Clinic might be a place that has a link to
motels and campground that offer a discount.

Steve,

Another good campground in Oronoco is Hidden Meadows:

6450 120th St NW.
Pine Island, MN 55963
.3 mile west of Highway 52 on 120th St NW (Wazionja Rd)
Phone: 507-356-8594 (Jeff or Kris)
e-mail: HiddenMeadowsRVPark@...

Our camping group goes there every April. It is a little
further off the highway in the woods, but still close enough.

Also, I live in Rochester, MN.
Please call me if you need anything at all.
