Tim,
The KOA West would probably be a good spot for you as it just across the
river from Avondale and can be reached by either of the two bridges.
There is a new Luxury RV Park just outside the French Quarter.....it might
be a bit more expensive but they are new and probably need the revenue (ask for
a deal)....French Quarter RV Park.
I hope that you enjoy your stay here.

I have a possible job offer in/around Avondale, LA and am looking for
campgrounds in the area. According to the West NO KOA website, they
are finally starting to clear out FEMA trailers - anyone have any 1st
hand info on this?

Thanks,

Tim,
This area is still full of fema trailers and contractors. You
will need to make sure you reserve low-term the space in writing.
Don't just come down and hope to find a spot. Fema is leasing rv
parks, trailer lots and anywhere they can to locate Fema trailers.
Just the other day, the news reports that a private park in New
Orleans East was leased up by Fema and every contractor that was there
got a 24 hours notice to leave. If you find a spot, don't expect that
it will be cheap. I think the folks in this particular park was
paying $450 a month.
