WATER PROBLEMS

WHEN TRYING TO FILL MY WATER TANK, I SEE WATER LEAKING OUT OF THE
COACH ABOVE THE FUEL TANK.I HAVE CHECKED ALL THE DRAIN VALVES AND THEY
ARE CLOSED.ARE THERE SEALS IN THE BRASS VALVES THAT ARE THE DRAIN
VALVES.( THE LONG HANDLE VALVES)DOES THE COACH HAVE A VALVE THAT OPENS
WHEN THE TANK GETS FULL OR DOES THE WATER PRESSURE JUST GO THROUGHOUT
THE COACH?
WHEN I USE THE WATER SYSTEM WITH THE TANK VALVE CLOSED EVERYTHING IS
NORMAL AND NO LEAKS UNDER THE COACH. I SEE NO WATER INSIDE THE COACH

Sounds like the fresh tank is overflowing. Mine will do the same thing when
it is overfilled. Just turn off the tank fill switch and it should quit.
Full water pressure will be delivered to the coach by shore water. Your
sporlan Valve may be malfunctioning..

Thanks is that the valve in the water line that diverts the water from tank to
coach when the water tank switch is turned on? My tank lights show empty .

Re Brake, I have just been "fiddling" with the water system on my 81FC35. The
Sporlan was stuck all or slightly open, This causes a few things, first, it will
let shore line water pressure charge the lines in the coach as well as try to
fill the storage tank (depending on how much it is stuck), this will ultimately
result on water coming out of the tank overflow and running on the ground. If it
were to stick closed (not energized, as if outside switch were in off position,
even if you hold it on "fill"), you would get water out of the inside coach
lines, but not fill the tank. On my rig, the valve was stuck slightly open adn I
could not get water pressure in the coach from the onboard water pump, the pump
would run, but the water just ran around in a closed circut adn never build
pressure. The valve I worked on is under the drivers side bed, betweed teh water
tank and the hot water heater, mounted to the floor. It has a little tag on it
that says "Sporlan" (I think that is
some other language for "finicky). You can take it apart by removing the 4, 3/8
bolts and check it out. Don't lost the little spring. Re-build kits are

Mine is labeled "Tank Fill" it is located in the outside compartment right
beside where you hook up the fresh water hose.

If the sporlan valve is working correctly, tank should not overfill if in
the off position.

I had to install a rebuild kit- from Stephen Birtles, and all is well. Easy
to replace once the bed, and wood is out of the way.
