Cruse Control
I have the original 1978 mechanical cruse control on my bird. It
was working but it just quite for some reason. I have traced part of the problem to the vacuum pump and fixed that (The internal vain pump rotor seals were frozen. I fixed that and now I get plenty of vacuum but I was wondering how can you test one of these units without driving down the road. Is there any schematics for this old system? And is there a fuse on this unit somewhere? Thanks jon Jon 1978 Wanderlodge |

Cruse Control
Last year I rebuilt my cruse control vacuum motor (Located in forward
compartment under passenger side). The vacuum pump compression slide operating fins were frozen in place and all it would do is spin around and not cause a vacuum to be created. Well the good news is that after I completely cleaned out the pump end of the motor it really does work now. I took it out for a test run befor winter and well to make it short the cruse control still did not work! But coming back from our little get-together up in LaConnor this past weekend I took the freeway back and tested it again and this time it worked. Now here is my question? The cruse control I have will activate when you depress a button located on signal arm but takes about 10 seconds for the control to take over. Basically I haft to speed up and depress the activation button and let it coast till it kick into the cruse control operation. So if I want to do say 60 mph, I haft to go up to 65 mph and push the control button and let the coach coast till it kicks in at somewhere 5 mph below the previous speed. Is there some control that I can adjust to make this kick in faster or just live with this operation? Thanks Jon Jon Lechich 78 Wanderlodge Bremerton Washington Rebel Bird |

Cruse Control
I f every thing else is working correctly usually this kind of problem is
due to incorrect slack adjustment on the throttle control. There is also a "centering" adjustment on the green or purple box that can correct this if there are no mechanical problems. - Chuck Wheeler - 82 FC 31 SB Fort Worth, TX _____ From: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com [mailto:WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Jon Sent: Friday, April 27, 2007 2:05 PM To: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com Subject: [WanderlodgeForum] Cruse Control Last year I rebuilt my cruse control vacuum motor (Located in forward compartment under passenger side).
