Leroy, There are some fine Birds for sale right now. The market is
good for moving up in year models and features. Even though we may have to sell our coaches for a little less than we think they are worth we can but another at reduced prices. Barbara and I will be placing an ad for our 1989 PT40 in the next several days. We are planning to buy another coach. If anyone has any interest in our coach they can call me at 254-913-1176 or email me at mmcmahan@... or wait until the ad is posted. I know. I too have been contemplating moving to a 1999LXi. One day forth and one
day back. Other than being newer by year, I am trying to evaluate what I will obtain for the extra money other than 3 feet and a Series 60. Things I would give up are an 8v92 with 25,000 miles on it, brand new tires, new convection oven, granite counter top, new carpet, other upgrades and a known commodity that has had very few issues. My Royale Conversion has Wabasto hydronic heat and all the nice stuff. It makes it tough call. Good luck on your search. I will pass the word around locally. Birds for sale
Yes, there are. And here I am.....a wannabe....with a nice hunk of real
estate for sale and no extra cash (its all tied up in the land). Arg! I've been watching some pretty good units go up on the market and sell for pretty good prices. And, I can't do a dang thing. Just as well as I think I still have a little more work to do on my wife. I think the trip to the beach last month helped her opinion on that one, though. I spent 6 hours last month in an AutoZone parking lot in Eufala, AL replacing the fan, alternator, and power steering belt after the fan slung a blade off near Phenix City. We made it to the beach (Grayton Beach State Park), but it wasn't a pretty trip as I had to fix some of my temporary repairs once we got there and my repair efforts yielded me a substantial gash on my head (with lots of blood and gore but no serious damage). I guess I was lucky it didn't get the radiator or anything else, though. Fortunately, we were able to make it to the parts store in Eufala and then found what we needed down in the Grayton area.. So, at least she knows that I'm not blowing smoke about wanting to replace it. And, if I'm going to replace it. She knows I will want to do it right (this time). I think I'm leaning towards a 91-94 if I ever get to that point. Still, that 89 with the Royale Conversion in AL looks pretty nice as well. I just know I definitely want a wide-body - prefer a cross-island bed, a washer-dryer (or at least hookups for one), and would rather have a dinette with chairs instead of a booth. And, any color but that god-awful peach interior or a red exterior is fine with me. My wife prefers one with a slide. But, I don' t think she yet understands the economic ramifications of that preference. :-) We can't really afford anything later than about 94 or so at this point so the slide may not happen. And, she's going to put up a fight on the cost of a 91-94, too. But, ultimately I think we'll get there. Of course, if I have to hold on to that land for another 5 years, that slide may start to be within reach by then! Oh well.....I'm glad to see it wasn't just my dreaming that had me noticing the number of birds for sale right now. Thanks for letting me dream some more..... Dreaming and hopin in Marietta, GA..... I know where there is a nice 2001 dual slide LXi up in my
neighborhood. I think they want $275K for it. It is a bank repo but it looked in OK condition (when I walked through it) - not great, not poor, but OK. Couldn't tell you the first thing about the motor or transmission as I just took a walk in it. Love the paint - gold with purple/blue) and it looked OK as well (no dents or scratches that I recall). It was missing the tool chest and grille. But, everything else appeared to be there. Nothing really wrong cosmetically except for slightly worn carpet. You should come by and I'll be glad to take you over there. You can just leave your 90 Royale with me. I'll make sure it gets "disposed of". :-) Jonathan Wannabe 1990 Winnebago --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Leroy Eckert" > > I know. I too have been contemplating moving to a 1999LXi. If it's the same one I think it is, I had a friend look at it for me. It's a
United Community repo? I think it was in Blairsville or someplace like that in GA. I did not go any further. I pretty much have decided to keep my ole beater for a while. Besides I would have to by a tool box and grill for that one.lol Leroy Eckert 1990 WB-40"Smoke N Mirrors" Niceville, FL Royale Conversion ----- Original Message ----- From: J To: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com Sent: Thursday, July 19, 2007 7:54 PM Subject: [WanderlodgeForum] Re: Birds for Sale I know where there is a nice 2001 dual slide LXi up in my neighborhood. Not sure what company it was that did the repo. But, this one was
being stored at Three Way Campers here in Marietta (well...that's where it was about 3-4 weeks ago when I was last there). That's my local RV store and I end up buying stuff over there FAR too often! LOL As I was in the service dept picking up a part for my SOB (that acronym is appropriate in SO many ways) I spotted a familiar looking RV sitting in their lot and asked if it was a bird. I took a quick stroll through it since they had it open. I don't know enough to give much of an eval and I didn't exactly have a lot of time to look either. It probably is the same unit. And, this was about 3 weeks ago when I was last there. I can't imagine too many 2001's that have been repo'd in the area. Anyhow, just let me know when you are ready to scrap the ole beater. I could even be persuaded to provide a grill and tool box in trade. *LOL* :-) That's about all I can afford for now. hehe JL --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Leroy Eckert" > > If it's the same one I think it is, I had a friend look at it for me.
