FAN SHROUD ON FC MODEL 3208NA
The radiator on my 1982 35FCRB 'Bird with a 3208NA and a Horton fan,
doesn't have a shroud and I want to have one made. Is there anybody on here that has this combination of engine and fan, that can give me the measurements of the the shroud, including the depth, height and width and also the location of the shroud mounts. A photograph of the mounts and shroud configuration would be helpful. I believe that the fan was upgraded to the Horton and since it is larger in diameter that the stock fan, I believe that one of the previous owners just left the shroud off. You can see a photo of what the setup looks like now by clicking on; http://www.pbase.com/image/42350336 "REMEMBER SEPTEMBER 11, 2001" John Finn '82 35FCRB BLUEBIRD WANDERLODGE TO VISIT THE "FINN'S INN EXPRESS" REMODELING ADVENTURE GO TO; http://www.pbase.com/image/24977457 '66 SUPERIOR / IH 392 GAS V8 32' PUSHER "FOR SALE" SEE THE OLD COACH AT: http://www.pbase.com/image/26052733 HOPKINS, SOUTH CAROLINA |

FAN SHROUD ON FC MODEL 3208NA
I'll try and get you some photos of mine, I have my front sheet
metal off to add an intake air deflector so I should be able to get a decent shot of it. My radiator opens the opposite way yours does, its hinged on the drivers side. I stopped by International Bus & Parts (800) 468-5287 <http://www.1800intlbus.com/index.htm> in Apopka, Florida today, toured the parts warehouse and picked up a catalog. They are still in the process of putting their catalog on line but they have a shroud similar to the one on my bus P/N 05-0800-001. They are complete metal-fab shop and will custom build anything you want out of stainless or aluminum including grill covers. They build all the body panels for MCI, GMC and Eagle coaches. They have a set of quad rectangular halogen headlights that I would like to upgrade the front of the 'lodge with for under $200 complete with bezels. I'd also like a set of custom polished aluminum panels to replace the front access panels and grill opening panel on my FC instead of repainting it (which it really needs). Next time you are in or around Orlando, stop by and get a tour and bring your gold card, you will need it. Good luck, TJ Hannink Winter Park, FL 1981 FC-33SB --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "John" wrote: > > The radiator on my 1982 35FCRB 'Bird with a 3208NA and a Horton fan, > doesn't have a shroud and I want to have one made. FAN SHROUD ON FC MODEL 3208NA
Thanks Tim,
Is the shroud at International Bus & Parts similar, or identical to yours and do you have a Horton fan on yours. Your photos will be greatly appreciated as in the past. When I go to the welder to have the shroud fabricated, I will finish up the genset drawer lock there. The dimensions I need are, width and height and the depth, or how far away from the back of the radiator is the opening of the shroud and if you have a Horton fan, how big is the diameter of the hole and the location of the hole, from the top and sides of the shroud. If you need to call me you can reach me at 803-783-7137 and let it ring as it is forwarded to my cel phone after four rings here in the shop/office. FAN SHROUD ON FC MODEL 3208NA
John:
If you're installng a Horton fan, call the Engineers at Horton. They were an excellent help when I was fitting the Horton to my '88, told me how much clearance to allow for fan stretch etc. in the shroud opening. - Jeff Miller http://www.wanderlodge.net http://www.millercoachworks.com --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "John" wrote: > > Thanks Tim, > > Is the shroud at International Bus & Parts similar, or identical to > yours and do you have a Horton fan on yours. FAN SHROUD ON FC MODEL 3208NA
Thanks Jeff,
If we can get Woody to open the swing radiator on his "WOODY BIRD"when he picks it up at Randy's, then Randy will duplicate the shroud for me, now I have to work on Woody, maybe some MRE's.......I think not!! I will contact Horton though just to make sure of the proper dimensions.
