I towed ours from California to Minnasota and back with no problems.
It tows so well I have to remind myself that it is still there. A
piece of advise... Spray the front and hood of the Element with WD-40
before a long tow. It keeps the road tar from adhering to the paint
and washes of easiley with soap and water.

We bought our new 05 Element in January with the express purpose of
towing 4 down. We would have gotten an 06, but Honda won't honor the
warrenty if there is towing brackets on car. Talked to Honda, was told
they stopped honoring for 06 because people weren't moving the trans
right before towing and Honda was replacing a bunch of tranny's.
We got the extended warranty that has the car covered for 11 years and
120,000 miles. That should last us when we retire in a year and
fulltime.

I have been towing our 2006 Honda Odyssey since this April,
although Honda did remove their endorsement for towing this
vehicle in mid 2005. I am glad to hear it is just because people
were not following the directions and not because of a weak
tranny problem.

I use the Demco Excalibar tow bar and U.S. Gear toad braking system.
