South Padre Island
Mike:
Where do you camp on South Padre Island at Xmas? We were down there a few years
ago and
as I recall, we camped at a State Park on Mustang Island. We didn't stay long
because a large
incoming storm was about to block our way when returning home to CO. We'd like
to return
sometime.

South Padre Island
David, I know you didn't ask me, but that has never stopped me before. I had a
home on SPI for a number of years and am now going to be there in Jan & Feb at
Destinations South Padre RV resort on the island. It is the premier loaction on
the island, however, Isle Blanca park is also there and is run by Cameron
County. The spaces are very limited in the winter and you must put your name in
the hat early.
Another choice, is across on the mainland at Long Island Village, which is a
former Outdoor Resorts operation. They have good facilities and usually a site
is available, although they are getting taken up by park models. I'm sure Mike
may have other ideas and he certainly has great knowledge of the island.

Enjoy.

the way to the southern end of Texas. If you look on a map Port
Isabell is where we cross over to the island. Nice rv park called
Destination south padre island. Not right on the beach but within
walking distance. Mike & Sue Bulriss and Barbara & I have been
going to the island for about the last ten years at Christmas and
staying thru New Years. Several times other members of the forum
have joined us. I will be making our reservations this week. Feel
free to come down. The weather can be anything from very good to
very bad but we always have a few nice days and a good time. Mike
