BMC air dryer rebuilt
NAPA Part number DQ6026 ($123.99)is the correct repair kit for the
Midland Graw Air Pure Plus air dryer on our 94 BMC 37'. The kit
consists of the desiccant canister, coalescing filter, 175 PSI
pressure relief valve, orings, purge valve shield, screws etc.

I pulled the air dryer out of the coach to bench install the kit.
When I dis-assembled it, I found it was contaminated/plugged
(including pressure relief valve and purge valve) with desiccant
beads that had broken loose from the canister.

The coalescing filter was missing entirely in the unit, so the
desiccant beads penetrated into areas they should never have
reached. Additionally, the new desiccant canister has a screen
filter built in to prevent descicant beads from reaching into these
areas. The air dryer also had a 150 PSI relief valve, versus the
kits 175 PSI valve.

Whoever "serviced" this unit last, made the unit unsafe and unfit
for operation. Now, for the first time, I can hear the unit purging
as designed. My dash gauges previously read 110, now read 120 psi.
We bought the coach in the fall and drove it home from East Texas to
NM, no trips since then.

We are now in much better shape for a upcoming trip to Florida.
