Fan Shaft Seal Leaking
Has anyone replaced the engine fan shaft seal? Do you know where to get
the seal? Mine is leaking. I want to take care of that before remounting the fan. -- Curt Sprenger 1987 PT38 8V92 "MacAttack Racing" Anaheim Hills, Calif. |

Curt- Ralph, Bim and myself did a seal replacement on my coach. If you have the
radiator removed have at it. We did it with the radiator in place. If I have to do that again- the coach is up for sale~ Ernie Ekberg 83PT40 Livingston,Montana ----- Original Message ----- From: Curt Sprenger To: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com ; wanderlodge@yahoogroups.com Sent: Wednesday, February 21, 2007 3:50 PM Subject: [WanderlodgeForum] Fan Shaft Seal Leaking Has anyone replaced the engine fan shaft seal? Ernie,
Does the 6V and 8V have the same fan set up? If so, I'd like to see you guys tackling that project with the radiator in place. Must have been a two box wine job, per person. How many hours went into that job? Curt Sprenger 1987 PT38 8V92 "MacAttack Racing" Anaheim Hills, Calif. ernieekberg@... wrote: > Curt- Ralph, Bim and myself did a seal replacement on my coach. Curt, as I recall on my PT, I took that seal down to the local
bearing/seal shop (US Bearings) and they matched it up in a few minutes. You can also try a shop that builds hydraulic hoses. They might carry the hydraulic fans & parts. Spencer Power here in MT carries that stuff. Terry Neal Bozeman, MT 82PT40 6V92TA 74FC34 6V53T Curt Sprenger wrote: > > Has anyone replaced the engine fan shaft seal? Curt- I believe it took 2 days. You can get the fan motor off, and leave the fan
resting on a support bracket. You get real messy, and the weather was perfect. The only other job that was worse, was R/R an airbag on Ralphs coach. 3 days on that one. Thanks Terry. There is a bearing and seal shop about 5 miles from me.

Thanks Greg.
I was trying to come up with the name. Where the H%$L did Applied Industrial Technologies get substituted for King Bearing? Just doesn't seem like a good name change if they want to keep bearing & seal customers coming in. Probable a buy out with no consideration. Thanks again.
