With all the really smart people here someone should know how to
polish Corian counter tops. When we got the coach, counter tops were polished and shiny. Now through use they are dull and scratched. Any ideas? Kent Johnson full-timing 98 LX 40' |

Try this web site:
<http://www.kitchensource.com/kau/coriancare.htm> For high gloss Corian, it suggests buffing with white polishing compound and a low speed (1500-2000 rpm) polisher equipped with a wool pad. Finish with a countertop wax. You can use that same polisher (with car wax) to polish your 'bird. Pete Masterson aeonix1@... When I got my Bird there was a scorch mark made from a lamp which over
heated on the end table of the couch. I went to Home Depot or Lowes and was advised that the bleamish could be sanded out and polished. The advice was right on. I used wet sand paper, starting with 600 grit and finished with 1000. A buffing wheel and wax will add the finishing touch. I suspect that for deep scratches you could start with 400 if needed but I would always do it wet. You are correct, and there are other ways to do the same thing.
Isn't it interesting that you most likely were told that hard surface Corian will not scorch or scratch. That wasn't quite right was it? I like mother natures product better. One other comment. I have nothing against HD or Lowes because I shop there from
time to time. However, Home Depo University is not a University, it is a sales tool. You got away unharmed this time. Beware, advise from the good folks in the tile department is not necessarily gospel.. As always, trained pro's are your best source.
