A BLUEBIRD BED TIME STORY
So here I am having a nice nap when the phone rings, Its my best
friend. How's it going he asks, fine and you. Not so good he says, my seizures are coming more often and the medication makes me want to sleep. No drive, no get up and go. Just want to stay at home and watch the world cave in. Doesn't sound too good my friend what can I do to help I say. You know my (here it comes just in case you were about to fall asleep) 79 Bluebird Wonderlodge that's been sitting for going on three years now, and costing me $100.00 dollars every month to store? Yes I say, what about it. Well he says, you ain't ever gonna get that Revcon put back together not in my life time. Why don't you come out here and get the Bird. It's yours. You don't have to give me a dime just come get it so I don't have to pay anymore rent. Should start right up with the new 250 horse turbo engine I put in just befor I put her up. And the new interior and carpet has very little wear to speak of. And the new paint job has many more years to go. A little tweak here and there and she should be good to go anywhere. Its 35 foot of steel and heaven on wheels. Ya but it's a bus. It's a monster. It's as big as a train I say. Sell the dam thing. No he says, you just come get it, that way it stays in the family. Well my new friends, there is a monster with wheels and tires as big as a VW. Steel so thick it feels like an armored personal carrier. So long and tall it should be painted yellow and be taking my neighbors kids to school. Sitting, no, digging her hoofs into my front yard. I live in the hills. No sidewalks no street lamps. Neighbors can't believe there eyes on the way to work seeing this monster looming over the greenery. Cops asking me if Im a drug king pin. My dog hasn't come out of the house since it arrived. Birds won't come with in a hundred feet of its bulk. But let it be known, this is one sweet ride. WOW! the Bluebird fairy has dropped one of the wonders of the world in my lap. The 65 mile ride home was something else. This sure ain't no plastic garbage bag. It's a condo that can do. And on the road too. QUESTIONS TO FOLLOW SO STAY TUNED. That is if you can hear through the steel. matthew msecoolcal 1979fc35 |

Mat, The steel lack the value the previous owner is equating when he
adds memories and freedom. If I were in your situation after all the mushy crap I would clear the title with the DMV, Turn the bus and force the cash back at the pissed previous owner who would be better served by a fat pocket. Oh yea, I would keep 10%, anything over that require penance. I hope you are not setting us up for a campaign of angelic bus sales. On the other hand, you are telling your "best Friend" (who sounds to be teminally ill} that you do not want this thing of great intrinsic value that he would like you to enjoy. -- Pete Arnold New Rule: There's no such thing as flavored water. There's a whole aisle of this crap at the supermarket - water, but without that watery taste. Sorry, but flavored water is called a soft drink, or juice. You want flavored water? Pour some Maker's Mark over ice and let it melt. That's my flavored water. Amen! |

A BLUEBIRD BED TIME STORY
Dan,
Thank you so much for your kind response. It still amazes me at my age to read inane and completely unfounded retorts from people that think from the opposite side of there body. As I said in my little story, I am just thrilled that I have received this gift. If there was a thought of selling then it would have been sold long before this. I enjoy and exercise my right to embellish a little when involved in a living story like this ownership in a new realm. I did hope that this site would offer me new friends and advice on putting this Bluebird back to its previous glory. So far not one "enjoy your new found RV" "welcome to the group" or what ever. I guess my mistake was looking at this group thru 70 year old eyes. Did I do the wrong thing writing this little story? Am I an outcast because it was a gift not an outright purchase? I was only trying to share my excitement and the discovery of a new experience, Bluebird ownership. My best friend is just that a best friend and once I realized he really wanted me to have the Bird I excepted it with joy and excitement. My intention and attention to this Bluebird will absolutely include him. Matthew, 1979 fc35 ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. Matthew, Greg's response is wrong in my opinion.
A good friend gave you a gift and asked you to enjoy it- just as he did. Honor the mans wishes. Accept his gift and enjoy it. That is what he said he wanted you to do. Honor the mans wishes. Or dishonor the man, sell it, and insult him with dollars selling his cherished coach, and give him raw dollars - minus a 10% commission of course as a raw monetary view of the world - ruining your friendship forever in the process. Pay the man back with kindness, help, concern, and honor of the friendship. Good friends go beyond cash. Do not sell your friendship on either giving nor receiving. A BLUEBIRD BED TIME STORY
Hi Mat:
Enjoy your Bird, keep her full of oil and to the left of the bar ditch. I have been known to embellish from time to time as well. Welcome and ask any on any questions you have.
This is a good group of great people. As soon as you start asking questions about how things work, or how to repair a item, or sources of parts, the answers and help will flow forth.
