Group Buys - thanks and AGM batteries next???

Stephen,
I mailed the check to you today for the pressure pro tire monitoring
system.

Thank you VERY much for tackling this project.

I am really happy with our 2 group buys: Surge Suppression, and Tire
Monitoring. I did both, and I for for one appreciate the leg work the
2 of you did, and the forums that have allowed these discounted group
buys.

I have a request for the next group buy ... if we have about 2 months
to save our dollars: AGM batteries in the summer or fall. Anyone else
need some AGMs? I need 2 AGM starters, and 4 AGM house batteries, all
group 31s. I will also need new cables for the 4 house side as they
are currently cabled for flooded type connectors.

Any one else in for a AGM group battery group buy discount? I have no
source other than Stephen if this request works out.

My concern with a group buy AGM would be the cost of shipping could
eat each person alive to the point there is no savings over local
purchase. But if I can get a good quality battery for the right
price I am down with that.

I need 8 house batteries, I use flooded for starters as they are in
the engine bay and will be hot most of the time.

While I am here, has anyone researched hybird AGM and GEL combined
batteries (lower part is AGM with GEL overlayed on the top)?

The previous owner of my coach installed AGMs for both engine and
house batteries. Unfortunately, they were badly mistreated between
the time the coach was traded in and I bought it --- to make matters
worse, the Link 2000R controller had been incorrectly programed (or
had been "reset") so that it was charging as if the AGMs were flooded
batteries. Result, batteries that didn't hold their charge. I
purchased new AGMs from an Internet source. (My coach uses 6 size 4D
batteries for the house.) I purchased FullRiver AGMs from DC Battery
<http://www.dcbattery.com> The price included delivery (shipping was
from Florida to California).

The only snag I ran into was the new batteries were slightly wider
than the old ones ... and I had to modify the 'trays' that hold them.
Not difficult, but I had to find a friend with a welding rig to do
the job.

I selected these because they're designed for deep cycle in solar
installations. Seemed like an appropriate choice. My chassis
batteries don't seem to have suffered the same fate as the house
batteries, so I didn't change them. I think they're 3 type 34s...

This will work the hardest part is the logisitcs of delivery
Batteries have to purchased at the distributorship level no middlemen
and a manufacturer that will drop ship or generously discount the
shipping
the choice could be yours flooded cell or agms.The caveat is shipping
Flooded cell carries a hazmat rating therefore a surcharge
We have shipped both types both singly and by the skid and if the
quantity is big enough it works
Agms you can ship by mail and bother Dan's back no hazmat no surcharge
just a really angry mailman
If everyone would like to wait or can survive till fall I can start
the work now this will take some preperation
What I need to work with is a zipcode so I can start pricing shipping
The size and type of battery you are looking for
If I jump into this thing again I will not buy junk. they will be
excellent quality batteries It is not worth the aggravation
And sorry Guys and Gals no Gel type they will not give the service
life of either agm or flooded cell and they will not stand abuse
either intentional or accidental.
And for Dan we can make the cables
