I have what I consider excessive wind noise from both driver and passenger
windows at highway speed. Is this "normal" or common? Known fixes?

You may need to renew the weather stripping in the window. I have a
pesky air leak in the driver's side window that goes away when I
press on the glass with my hand (making the seal tighter).

It may be coming from the door seal. I think at the factory they put a two by
four between the door and frame and push on the door. I have that problem and
I've considered putting another deadbolt up higher on the door to pull it in.

Sure, always interested in what others have done.

On mine, and I don't know how common window designs are, the sliding windows
have a groove that has a pile-type weather strip that goes around a metal
"blade" above, below, and at the forward edge of the frame. I don't see any way
to renew that strip.

There is, in the channels to each side of the forward "blade," foam
weatherstripping. This looks like it was an add-on, presumably for the same
noise reason. It is old, dry, cracked, and not doing its job. I went to a large
hardware store today to buy some of the same stuff, and nearly did (1/8 thick,
1/4 wide foam), but then I spotted some 1/4-inch wide pile stripping, and
decided to go with that. The old foam came out fairly easily, and the pile went
in easily. It will be a couple of days before we move again, so I won't know
until then if the fix worked.

OK, I'll bite. Assuming the strip is easy to buy, how do you get the window out
of the track, and back in after replacing the strip?

Yes, post a picture. Might save the job of disassembling the window
to renew the weather seals.

I'd like to see these, too, Jim.
