Sharp Convection Microwave Fried
Can anyone tell me what to replace the Sharp Convection Microwave Oven
in my 85 PT40 with?

Had an issue with incorrect polarity that I didn't notice and a few
days later, the display no longer works- no beeps from the buttons,
etc. The interior light comes on when the door is opened, but thats the
only function it has...

So, I'd like to update the original with something that will fit the
opening well and provide as good of service as the original.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi Jay,

Yours is acting like mine did. I had a power surge/polarity issue
during the ice storm. Killed most of my TVs and other high dollar
fragile stuff deader than a hammer. Microwaves(old ones) are
tougher. Check that fuse behind the control panel 1st. I've got
spare fuses if you need one.

Jay,

I bought my Sharp replacement on the net. Go to http://www.SharpUSA.com. It
gives the spec's and dimentions for all models of micro-convection
ovens.

---I recently bought an identical SHARP from LOWES for $480......
the black front is $60 cheaper.
You can play around on ebay like I did for a while.
For as little as the stainless model shows, I should have bought the
BLACK front and saved $60.

Same thing happened with mine...replaced fast blow fuse (about a dollar at
Radio Shack), and it repaired it, and it is still working.
