Rally in the Valley

Rally in the Valley
I feel that this is going the wrong way.

I was taught that before I do anything to someone else, consider how it
would feel to be that other person. This is a philosophy common to most
of the worlds religions from Baptist to Zen Buddhist (B-Z, clever eh?).
We should afford the staff at BlueBird the same courtesy. I've had the
good fortune to meet many of the staff at BlueBird Coachworks, and most
of them do everthing that they can within their power for new and old
Wanderlodge owners.

If Brenda et al are working to put on a RIV at the level of those past,
with the food, activities, entertainment, and facilities we've come to
expect, and do that within BlueBird's guidelines and the budget, I
support their effort. It is hard work. If this means that it will cost
more money than some are willing to spend, this happens also. I thank
the BlueBird team for arranging the RIV.

If there are some who are interested in a rally across the street,
remember that BlueBird has no legal obligation to let you on the
fairgrounds property, and certainly won't if it in any way degrades the
experience of those paying the full RIV fee. Your best strategy at this
point IMO is to persue your rally as a separate event, ensure that you
are self-contained as an event. If you want to be a part of the RIV
activities, and be allowed access to the property, remember that this
would be considered a priveledge. Allowing gracious people to wander
the fairgrounds at no liability to the paid participants and company is
a possibility, allowing a group of folks who are negative is highly
unlikely.

Further, submitting negative mail, email, and voice-mail to BlueBird
staff will distance this group from BlueBird. If this rally is to be,
and there is any hope of being part of the RIV activities, it should be
one person contacting BlueBird about day-pass priveledges and an
orginized group. I believe that Ron has already initiated this. If it
is determined that all can buy a day-pass for a reasonable fee, this
should be considered graciously. If no access or limited access is all
that is available, remember the tone of this group regarding the
BlueBird staff's efforts.

The only possibility that this group will be recognized and allowed any
access to the RIV at any level is from BlueBird feeling that this
presence will be an asset to the RIV, not a liability.

Well said Jeff. We really don't need to upset them with any
unwarranted criticism.

Leroy good idea but realize you have a choice. You can attend the RIV or the
RATS or both actually. Check them both out when the info comes out on what
is going on at each. It simply boils down to choice. It is your choice.

Hi Leroy,

The Rally in the Valley will be during the time-frame
that includes Halloween. As the time approaches
literature will be sent out including the registration
forms.

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know if the Rally in the Valley registration forms have been
sent yet? I haven't received one and am planning on going this year. Hope to see

Is ther a list of the Lone Star Birds members that are going to the
Rally in the Valley. I know I saw an earlier post but I wanted to see
who was going. I think Barbara and I are going to attend. Is Atlanta
the closest airport or is there something closer that can get you
out. Thanks, Mike McMahan 1989.PT40

Mike,
Atlanta is the major hub you can fly commuter into Middle Georgia Regional
Airport just south of Macon, Ga. and about 25 miles north of Perry, Ga.

Mike: You should look at connections to Macon, GA or Columbus to be
closer. They of course are smaller towns.

Shirley and I are going, but leaving earlier so I can get a couple of
windshields replaced while in the area.
