Backup Camera
Art,
I use either Delo 100 40wt, or Detroit Diesel's 40 wt two-stroke oil, available directly through the Detroit Diesel/Allison dealer locally in Irvine (Valley Detroit). I would think the same oil is used in my 8V92 as you'd use in your 6V...check with Valley Detroit to make sure. Backup Camera
After having spent many hours reading prints and tracing wires from
the front overhead load center, I just happened to trace a wire coming out of the TV chassis. It traced to the toggle for operating the center overhead A/C. My coach was ordered with only two roof A/Cs. Guess what triggers the backup camera - yep, that center switch. All that tracing for naught. Well, I guess I did learn a lot about the front overhead and lower front load centers, and my backup camera is now working. On another note, what oil should I use in my 6V92 engine - has about 100K miles. Art Weatherly Riverside Ca '85 PT36 |

Backup Camera
Art,
Glad you have the camera working...cheap fix, huh? Interesting how thee old 'Birds were wired or modified by previous owners. Filter: I'm assuming the 6V92 takes the same filter as the 8V92...Detroit diesel Power Guard #23530407 or equivalent. Oil: Mobile Delvac API CF2 40 wt.or Detroit Diesel Power Guard API CF2 40 wt. They are the same oil, just packaged for Detroit Diesel in the past year. Backup Camera
Hey Art, glad to hear you figured it out. I wanted to mention that I
got mine working too. I picked up a very small camera from Fry's for $99.00. It's about the size of a half stack of quarters. Had to use an adapter from the BNC plug to the RCA plug. But to my surprise it works! Now all I need to do is decide how to mount it? It's infra- red so I will need to either remove the plexiglass or cut a hole in it? Backing up blind is no fun! Keith
Backing up blind is indeed no fun. Now I'm once again a happy man.
