No Start On Generator

No Start On Generator
My Kolher Generator, on my 82FC, wouldn't start. I found a 3 pole micro switch,
mounted under the fuel solonoid,(only 2 poles are used), It has a metal tab
connected to it, which strikes the linkage on the solonoid. I moved it by hand,
and the solonoid slowly engaged. Then it locked engaged, and I was able to start
the Gen. I checked the ground, and the voltage going to it, is fine, so I tried
to order one, from kohler, and they had no clue what I was talking about. I
checked my Gen manual, and found a switch marked "Limiting Switch", in the fuel
group. It's the only switch I saw listed. Is that the right switch?, and if so,
is it only available, through BlueBird?
My next question is, with the Gen running, I have power to the plug that
powers the Batt chargers, don't charge. Is there a diode or something in the
line, that could kep the chargers from charging, or are they burned out?
Ok one more question, then I'll give it a rest. My Gen is drawing 9 amps
(not running, with the Pos. cable disconnected, and a volt meter attatched in
series) I also disconnected the volt meter, and attatched a test light, in it's
place. the light is very dim, and when I reconnect the cable there isn't a very
big spark, so it's a slow draw. Any thoughts on where to start trobleshooting
this?

Thank you

No Start On Generator
The 12.5 Kohler generator won't start on my 1982FC There's no current
at either the starting switch, or the pre heat switch. I'm getting
current through the 10 amp fuse, and through the ampmeter, but when I
checked the #30 for current at the Bosh Relays with a test light, the
light was dim. I disconnected the wire from the relay, and there was
no current at all at the wire. It's almost like there is feedback
comming from someplace. I checked the diode and it's working fine. Any
suggestions?

I have found that feedback in most cases is ground related. Other than that I am
afraid I cannot help.
