Oft subject but very interesting motor home
I know our Wanderlodges were way ahead of there times for quality and
reliabilty but check out this motor home from the very early 50's.

There is a late model coach available with much the same
configuration
as far as the observation platform. Seems to me it uses some type of
clamshell that opens and flares. Complete with inside staircase,
safety railings, umbrellas and folding chairs. Just the ticket for
Nascar fans! Can't remember where I saw it though . . .Sad

Vintage 'Bird owners healthy enough can use the ladder and diamond
plate decking for their own observation platform. Hmmm . . . don't
know about the 3-points of contact safety rule - one trip over the
goat rail could be be a real downer. :o

I think ALFA also makes a unit like this, it was featured in the FMCA
mag a few months ago. Small stairway inside, and the upper door is
hinged on the 'street side' and the seat backs open up to form a
'Safety Rail'. Looks fun, if you are a NASCAR supporter. The
might put a flat table on the A/C units to trun them into 'Coffee
Tables"..
