The only places I go under mine if the bags are up is the very rear area. I can get out from that if it drops. Anyplace else, I roll her up on the boards and gain about 3.5" all along. It's enough I can get everyplace I've needed to. That's with the bags down.

Since I'm usually the only one in the area when I'm underneath, I don't dump the air out of the tanks. That's a good idea, though! Prevents any surprises!
