ISO Wiring Diagram - Electric Step

[freewill2008]

Anyone else have an electric step at the entrance instead of an air
step? If so, do you have a wiring diagram for it? The control wiring
in mine has developed a problem and it would sure be nice to see a
diagram instead of doing the ol' hand trace.

Yeah, Bob; Our 73 has the electric operated steps.. Our Old coach
has no air source, so electric steps were manditory.. I dont have any
diagrams, they Chisled would be on Stone Tablets, anyway...

Bob:

The WLII electric step wiring diagram is #3764768. Mostly unique to
the WLII, but there are a few regular Wanderlodges with electric
steps.

I have that drawing if you have any specific questions, or if you
wish to get a complete copy you can try calling Bennie and requesting
one.

Also, if you have access to the air-step wiring drawing, I expect
there are similarities (same switches and wiring used), I can compare
the two and you could work from the air-step wiring drawing.

Jeff -

Bennie is going to send a copy of the diagram (thanks for the
number!) but I'm open to any suggestions if you've seen this
particular failure before.

My step has a relay that reverses the step motor. When the relay
coil is energized, the step advances; when the coil is relaxed, the
step retracts. When the door closes, the door switch opens and
should cause the coil to relax. Suddenly the only way to relax the
coil is to pull the coil wire at the relay.

The relay, socket, door switch, and limit switches test good, so
something may have happened to the wiring between the door switch and
the relay. There is also a dashboard switch, so that wiring loop is
suspect as well I suppose.

The only help I can offer is to check the tape-switch above the step.
If it is shorted the step will not retract, snip the wires to this
switch to check.

The rest of the wiring is too complex to troubleshoot long-distance.

Great suggestion on the tape-switch. Thanks. If that isn't it, I'll
have the complete diagram to work from soon.
