That is not true Pete.
How many times have people gone to a campground and hooked into a 30 amp
service, and run the A/C without any problem.
A/C are usually 1500 watts and surge would go to 3000 maybe a little more.

300 Amps X 12V = 3600 watts



I wouldn't think of running a 13.5 BTU air conditioner with out a 5.0

Generator to cove line loss and motor start surge.
