This is a good coach, always well-maintained and very solid. It's not without a few to-do items to be perfect, but it is still in "turn key" condition.

http://picasaweb.google.com/gbouton/Wanderlodge here is a cut and paste of his description from the "Comercial" forum Bluebird Wanderlodge Forward Control 35 Side Bath: This beautiful coach was given a thorough going over in 2003 by Jeff Miller. Jeff replaced all upholstery, installed new parquet floor in the kitchen, installed new carpeting in the living and bedroom areas, all new day/night sliding window shades, new refrigerator, new icemaker, etc. etc. In the kitchen, microwave/convection oven works great; the Nutone blender built into the counter top is present and working; and there is an Instant Hot faucet at the kitchen sink. The fresh water pump has been upgraded to a 5.7 gpm unit so the water pressure in the shower is just like home. This coach as the upgraded Turbocharged Catepillar 3208 TA engine with 250 HP, which was installed by an authorized CAT shop less then 50,000 miles ago. The chassis itself has 150,000 miles on it. There are three basement A/C units. The middle unit is not blowing cold, although the fan runs fine. I use it to push the air around from the forward and aft units and the coach stays plenty cold although a new owner may want to replace the compressor on this unit. Alternatively, with the 12 volt whole house fan on the roof and with the windows open, awnings down and that fan on, it still stays cool and comfortable on even hot days. With a diesel fuel capacity of 265 gallons of diesel and an average of 7.6 mpg, the cruising range is approximately 2,000 miles. The Jacobs Electric Retarder is present and operates correctly (and effectively!). This coach comes complete with "The Big Blue Box" treasure trove of Bluebird manuals, documents, schematics, and service/repair documentation. It's obvious just by looking through the Blue Box that this has been a very well-maintained coach since new! The Advantages this particular unit has over other similar Bluebirds are the following: No smoking, probably ever, but certainly since Jeff Miller replaced the interior. Side bath is plenty big, with a sunken shower/tub, and the location in the middle of the coach is preferable (to me at least) to the rear bath option. Twin berths in the aft stateroom. While this is a personal preference for some, the queen bed alternatives restrict floor space in the stateroom, and this layout is preferred by many for it's practicality. The Turbo 250 HP engine. Swing Radiator. All new batteries in 2007. Engine replaced less than 50,000 miles ago. Steer tires have 10,000 miles on them and are near perfect. Drive tires are older but still show no signs of sidewall checking or significant tread wear. New air dryer in 2007 New air pressure regulator in 2007 New engine belts in 2007 Overall in very, very nice shape and ready to hit the road today. The Blemishes of this coach are: Dash Air Conditioner Compressor inop (needs new York compressor valve) Center Basement Air Conditioner Compressor inop Cruise Control in not currently working. I believe it is probably a little contact corrosion but I haven't pulled it apart to play with it. That is what it was last time it stopped taking a signal from the switches at the helm. Dash lighting is not working. The gauge illumination works and so it is just the back lighting of the switch labels that is inop. One small dent up high on the left rear corner that didn't break the paint (visible on the photos.) Probably some previous owner backed into a tree branch at low speed. Ice maker in the galley is relatively new and works as a freezer on 110 volt, but may not actually make ice. I never tried it, but Jeff Miller had and said it didn't produce cubes. Some fading/cracking of decals, most notable on the very upper (curved) portion of the coach, which can be seen in the photos. Overall paint condition is good. The vinyl ceiling material has shrunk a bit in the area above the passenger seat area, and has pulled away from the mounting strip. There is a picture of this area in the above picture album that shows this section. There is no sign of water intrusion or water damage, so this is probably just a cosmetic issue, and is not overly noticeable. In summary, this is a good, solid coach that just needs a new owner! Asking $25,000. Coach is located near Baltimore, Maryland and is presently winterized. Need to sell ASAP. |
