83 PT35 won't start
I have an 1983 PT-35 with a 6V92 and it won't start. The engine cranks
but no go. When I turn the ignition switch I do not hear the air
solenoid engage. Where is this solenoid located? I think that is my
problem.

You did check the A/T switch, right?
Will it start from the rear switch?

Mike,

Thanks for responding. I did not check the A/T switch. Also I have not tried to start it from the rear. In the past whenever I turned the ignition switch I could hear a solenoid engage and a little puff of air. I do not hear that and I believe somewhere there is a solenoid that is not allowing the air pressure to open the fuel supply line to the engine. The engine cranks fine but no fire.

Regards,

Jim Elliott

wonder if pumping the system up with an aux aircompressor first would help? I realy cant understand how the air fuelcutoff works on drained tank startups. Kinda think alot of the V92's were in applications with air startwhere low air would have been an issue with the starter so standby air was always avaliable???????

Hi Jim,

That little puff of air originates from a small solenoid with two
wires that is located down behind my bumper in the left side of the
engine compartment. Mine is red, square and has an air hose that goes
up to the fuel solenoid on the blower assembly. Check the ground on
that little solenoid and see if you're getting 12V when you try the
key. Should be easy to do when starting the coach from the back.
