93 PT-40 for sale in Nashville
There has never been a problem with multi-grade in a 4 stroke engine.
The only discussion here referring to straight 40 weight is for the
two-cycle engines that Detroit has built. Detroit has always
recommended this and has been against the mutli-grades, whether
regular oil or synthetic. I believe the primary reason is the fact
that the two-strokes idle with only 5 psi oil pressure and multi-grade
won't properly support the crankshaft under those conditions. Can't
say this for sure, but I would bet this is the reason.
