Xantrex RV 3012 M Inverters & other stuff
Finally have the 2 new inverters and controls installed. It took a
bit more than expected. The two inverters do fit into the inverter
compartment with perhaps a ¼ to spare! One of the inline fuses was
blown which wasn't an issue, they both had to be replaced with 400amp
fuses upgraded from the old 250 amp fuses. Maryville Marine in
Whitehouse TN did that part of the job. They upgraded some of the
cables to handle the new load. Very professional and great price for
labor, they do lots of Busses for the Nashville crowd.

Very pleased with their work, they tested my old Freedom 458's both
of them have dead boards in them, that with a blown fuses, they were
baffled as to how anything was functioning. It also took a little
time to decide how to FIX the wirering on the engine bulkhead between
the engine compartment and the inverter bay. When they opened the
side engine bay door they took a step back and after a long moment
said, We've never seen anything like that! All I could say was, get
over it, It's a BIRD! They did an exceptional job.

They even liked the cooling fans mounted on the door of the inverter
box. I also cut 2 - 4 1/2 holes on the inside back wall of the box,
for air to enter thru. It will really blow with 3- 150 cfm fans
mounted on the hinged door. I have them hooked up to power on the
control panel for the engine compartment cooling fans. That is also
working very well. The biggest problem was installing the controls in
the side dash. I had to do three hours of fitting to get them in
there without messing up the wood finish. I'm glad I caught that
detail before I went to have the inverters installed I am very happy
with these inverters, total cost two Xantex RV 3012 Inverters two RV-
7 GS controls installation with labor and parts, under $1800.00.

A few other updates, the Indulgence now has all synthetic oils in
everything you can put it in, engine, tranny, trans axle, wheels,
generator, bulk fill tank needs to be drained and filled with syn oil
but it's all done. I would say it's worth the trouble seems as though
everything just works better. Empirical evidence, don't have it yet
but I like what I see so far. I'm lacking cooling fans for the A/C
condenser and the radiator but the controls and electric are in.

Just home from ILL. Had a 6 day trip everything working fine.@#$#$%
^%! I should have never have said that within ear shot of the bus.
There is a puddle of Hydraulic fluid under the right front bumper.
The HWH system is leaking D--M!,,and just to ice the cake one bay
door gas lift broke, and the propane gas outlet didn't work on the
trip just in time to cook steaks for some guests. My wife read the NY
Time article of our 2 friends and was in full agreement on the
bottomless money pit statement. She'll get over it.

Price of fuel is dropping!

Gearing up for a three week trip at the end of Sept. Kansas and San
Antonio. If anyone is up for a visit let me know we'll burn some beef
and have a few cold ones:}
