Fridge won't stay lit on LP
I've got a refridgeraqtor question today.
I have a dometic RM3807. When I switch to GAS,
the burner will ignite and stay lit, nice blue flame,
for about a minute, then it will shut off and the fridge
will go to "Check" status. It works fine on AC.

I replaced the circuit board about 4 years ago with
one of the improved Dinosaur boards.

Anybody have an idea of what might be causing this?

I'm off to check rvmobile.com to see if there is anything
over there that might explain the problem, but if
anyone has any ideas I'd be happy to take them.

Thanks,

It sounds like the thermocoupler - the copper bulb located next to
the flame of the pilot light has stopped working. The one on my home
water heater crapped out the other day and I had to have a cold
shower this morning, the repair guy (me) should be able to fix it
this weekend.

It should be a pretty easy fix if you can get it off and to an
appliance parts store to find a match for it. It also should be easy
to test, it should read normally open with a multimeter at room
temperature and should close when heated with a flame.

Good luck,

I was able to test the thermocouple with a lighter, and putting a
voltmeter on the two leads. I was able to get it to 20 mV.
I am not sure if this is enough or not. So far what I've found
is some generic info on http://www.rvmobile.com that says the thermocouple
will usually put out 25-35 mV, so I'm not sure if the 20mV I am
getting is enough. When the thermocouple goes bad, does
it just not create a high enough voltage, or would it not generate any
voltage?

The local RV dealer still thought it could be the board that went bad.
Any info is still apreciated.

Rick seems like what you need is some good troubleshooting information.
Here is the best that I have found on Dometic
products. http://tinyurl.com/78cl8
This is at http://www.gasrefrigeration.net but the tiny URL will get you
straight to the info you need.

good luck
