Riding Out Gustav
We spoke with Pat Gureasko about 2:30 this afternoon. The die is
cast. They appreciate all the posts telling them to leave and wishing
them luck, but they are riding it out. The house is boarded up.
Steve was out boarding up a neighboring house. The Bird is in the
hanger with the jacks down and that is where they are riding it out,
along with all their nearest neighbors and family. It is a 50x80
rounded quonset hut building rated at 150mph winds per the
manufacturer. We wished them good luck and told them we'd talk with
them soon on the other side of the storm.

Riding Out Gustav
FYI,

It appears areas south and southeast of NOLA will get the worst storm surge of 9-12 feet plus 8-10 inches of rainfall. If Gustav continues to move pretty quickly, inland flooding may not be that bad. Worst winds may be southwest of NOLA. The storm may cross I-10 between Lafayette and Baton Rogue tomorrow evening and stall out near the Texas/Louisiana border after midweek. If anyonewith generatortrouble needs 50 amp,we have some space behind our house in the DFW area.
