Front Air Conditioner Drain problem
Howdy, Y'all.

We live in our 1993 Wanderlodge. The condescent(sp?) from the front
air conditioner is not going down the drainage tubes but is running
across the roof and draining down the side of the coach. Jack has
blown the tubes out with compressed air, he can pour water straight
down the tubes and it flows into the bucket I have set on the ground.
He has put those small chlorine tables in the drain tray to have a
clorine solution going down the tubes to take care of any crud
growing in them. Jack is out of solutions. Please help us solve this
problem.

Thanks,
Jack and Liz

Jack & Liz:

First: Is the coach level? Have you checked the unit to see if
it is level. If the drain is open but the water is not flowing
through it, the units pan is not draining towards the tube or there
is a leak in the pan causing the water to take the path of least
resistance. Take a level up there to see what's happening.

liz,the problem is this. the unit was designed so that the water would drain
onto the roof.but BB put a fitting in the roof just below the drain in the ac
unit, there is a 1'' or so gap between the unit and the roof that had a spongie
foam donut filling the gap.this foam donut shrinks with age and allows water to
leak onto your roof,it will also make the water run onto your floor or bed when
you drive it,something about the air blowing into the units drain so that it
blows out the unit into your coach..what i did to fix this problem was to cut a
piece of 1'' pvc pipe adout an inch long and force it under the unit, between the
unit and the bus roof, then i glued it in with some silicone sealer..i got on the
roof, measured the gap,had my helper cut the pvc and i put it in.on my coach
there are 2 drains per unit,so 6 pieces of pipe was required..randydupree93wb

Randy,
Does the 1987 PT38 have the drains you describe?

I don't believe that the '87 had drain tubes, not sure though.

The A/C units on the '87 have a foam drain tray, not easily
replacable, but from my attempts no longer available.

I have used Silicone sealer to re-build damaged walls on this foam
tray so that the condensation is routed correctly with good success.

Hi Jeff,

The two Intertherm Polaris A/C's on our 88FC, do not have
roof drain tubes. The condensation just runs off of the roof,
sometimes onto the awnings.
What is the correct way of routing the water??

BB routed the condensation water from roof A/Cs on PT coaches
through tubes leading down from the roof, I believe starting with the
WLWB.

The Intertherm is a unique piece, really nice units except for the
drop-open door over the controls ;~)

Intertherm parts are no longer available, take good care of your unit
and shrouds. If one of yours dies, and has a good shroud, save the
shroud for your other unit or another BB owner.

Jack took care of that donut some time ago. We just had a plugged up
drain tube. Now the water flows down the drain tube like a cow on a
flat rock.

Now that I have your attention, will you pretty please post the model
of Sharp microwave/convection oven you have in your 1993 coach?

Thanks,
Liz
