Bird Power
We were wondering if the Generator on a Bird could power up a house?
(I realize that is like asking, "How much is a bag of Groceries"). But what size of genny would be needed to power up an average size house, including the House A/C unit, Fridge, TV, and of course the Computer!! Our Son lives in Conroe Tx and spent 5 days powerless.. Would our Bird with it's 5.5 Onan do anything there?? Jack Smith 1973FC31 Hot, Hot SoCal |

Bird Power
Jack,
The home A/C unit on my house runs off a 50 AMP breaker, which is the vast majority of your potential power output. Assuming you would want some of that power for the Bird, you could at least share an extension cord to plug in their refrigerator and maybe run a fan or two plus a computer, but not much more. Most home generators for whole house use will be several times the capacity of your genset.
