Ronnie Lamb is the new Customer Service Manager and is beginning a
campaign to increase the amount of upgrade work being done on Birds in
Customer Service. He has ask me to let everyone know that they are
ready to do upgrades from something as simple as re-covering a sofa to
a complete overhaul of the interiors. Of course we always offer general
maintenance service. We have been doing a lot of upgrades to A/V
systems to prepare for the new digital format that begins in
February, including new TV's,satellite receiver's and sound systems. You
may call Ronnie Lamb or Kenny Rodgers at (478) 825-0330 to set up
appointments

As an addendum to this: I called BB in Riverside, California to get
some repairs done on my 1979 Wanderlodge NO DICE. They told me they
do not work on Wanderlodge Coaches. Now what do I do?????????????????

Scratch the addendum!!! The BB Riverside facility Service Manager
called me to tell me that the lady that answered the phone had no
idea what she was talking about. He said that he followed up with an
email to her to straighten her out. The bottom line is that they do
indeed work on early coaches and would be more then happy to attend
to my service needs and repairs. Good news indeed. Sorry gang for any
upset.

That's odd ... I had my coach gone over quite thoroughly last May at
CCW/BB Riverside. They did good work and their technicians were quite
experienced with RVs (but less, so with WLs) -- but they were leaning
fast. You must have talked to the wrong person. If you called a Blue
Bird school bus distributor, then they do not service Wanderlodges.
But Complete Coach Works, the owners of Wanderlodge, set up an
exclusinve Wanderlodge service center right at the entrance to their
Riverside Facility.

Telephone : (800) 300-3751
or (951) 684-9585
FAX : (951) 684-2088

Ask to speak to the Wanderlodge service department, and they should
put you right through.

A to Z Bus is the California Blue Bird School Bus distributor. They
have locations in Colton and Sacramento. I know that the Sacramento
location serviced my coach for the Previous Owner (as I have the
receipts to prove it) and I've gotten some parts from them (that also
work on the school busses).

I have been giving this subject some thought and have concluded that it may be more cost effective dealing with CCW, in particular the Fort Valley facility, than having work done elsewhere.
IMO and estimation hourly rates are not too different across the country, especially if you are dealing with larger, more established facilities. What CCW/Fort Valley theoretically offers is more efficiency. They are much more likely to know a Bird than any place else, have technical resources and parts that are not readily available elsewhere.
Other shops often have to consult with BB, or take diagnostic time to identify problems or even fix relatively simple issues (e.g., 'how does this thing come apart?'). All the whilechargingyou the hourly rate.
Although I live far from either facility, I have thought about the benefits of integrating a stop at Fort Valley or even planning a trip to take advantage of some preventive maintenance.
One of my desires is to have every hose changed out on myBird. Although I have not had any huge issues, most are 18 years old and I know some time, some where, one is going to go when I least need the hassle. The thought of going to a local shop and asking them to change out all the hoses and critical lines scares me a LOT, as they'd have to do a lot of work just to figure out how many and where they are at. And I'd always wonder if they used the right replacement, or if they got them all.
Just my opinion - FWIW
