Factory Service

I have been giving this subject some thought and have concluded that it may be more cost effective dealing with CCW, in particular the Fort Valley facility, than having work done elsewhere.
IMO and estimation hourly rates are not too different across the country, especially if you are dealing with larger, more established facilities. What CCW/Fort Valley theoretically offers is more efficiency. They are much more likely to know a Bird than any place else, have technical resources and parts that are not readily available elsewhere.
Other shops often have to consult with BB, or take diagnostic time to identify problems or even fix relatively simple issues (e.g., 'how does this thing come apart?'). All the whilechargingyou the hourly rate.
Although I live far from either facility, I have thought about the benefits of integrating a stop at Fort Valley or even planning a trip to take advantage of some preventive maintenance.
One of my desires is to have every hose changed out on myBird. Although I have not had any huge issues, most are 18 years old and I know some time, some where, one is going to go when I least need the hassle. The thought of going to a local shop and asking them to change out all the hoses and critical lines scares me a LOT, as they'd have to do a lot of work just to figure out how many and where they are at. And I'd always wonder if they used the right replacement, or if they got them all.
Just my opinion - FWIW
